Listing Guidelines

Everything you need to know about creating and maintaining your LocalSlate directory listing.

Getting Started

  1. Sign up for a LocalSlate account using your email address.
  2. Verify your email by clicking the confirmation link we send you.
  3. Create your profile from the dashboard. Fill in your name, contact details, and upload a cover photo to get started.

Your Profile

Your base profile is your identity on LocalSlate. It includes your display name, contact information, and cover photo. This is what people see first when they find you in the directory.

Beyond the base profile, you can join multiple categories for each role you fill. This lets you tailor your presentation for different types of work.

Categories

Each category you join gets its own dedicated description and credits list. This means you can present yourself differently depending on the role — for example, your Sound Mixer profile can emphasize audio work while your DP profile highlights cinematography credits.

  • Each category has its own description and credits
  • Add relevant credits to showcase your experience in that role
  • Appear in multiple category listings with tailored information

Images & Files

Your main profile includes a cover photothat serves as your primary image across the directory. The cover photo should represent your work or brand — for example, an on-set photo, a company logo, or a still from your reel. It should not be a personal headshot.

Personal headshots and portraits belong on your actor or talent category images, where they help casting directors and collaborators put a face to your name.

Each category can have multiple images to showcase work samples relevant to that category. You can also upload supporting documents such as a resume and price sheet to give potential collaborators a complete picture of your experience and rates.

Approval Process

New profiles and edits go through a brief admin review to maintain directory quality. Here is how it works:

  • When you first create your profile, it will be reviewed before appearing in the directory.
  • If you edit an existing approved profile, your current listing stays live while the changes are pending review.
  • You will be notified once your profile or changes have been approved.

Tips for a Great Listing

  • Use a professional cover photo— an on-set shot, work sample, or logo makes a strong first impression. Save headshots for your actor/talent category.
  • List your best credits— highlight notable projects, well-known productions, or awards.
  • Keep contact info current— make sure your email and phone number are up to date so people can reach you.
