Film Southern Oregon Directory Guidelines
Getting Started
Directory listings are a benefit of membership in Film Southern Oregon. If you are not yet a member, click here to pay for an annual membership.
If you are already a member or once membership is paid for, create your listing in four easy steps:
- Click here to sign up for a LocalSlate account using the email you want as your contact email in your listing.
- Verify your email via the confirmation link emailed to you.
- Build your profile and directory listing, click “Save and finish later” if you need to.
- Click “Submit for review and approval” when you are finished.
A complete, accurate listing is far more likely to generate inquiries and job opportunities—take the time to do it right!
Your Profile
Your base profile is your identity in the directory. It’s the first thing people see when they find you in the directory. At minimum, your profile should display your name, contact information, and relevant links. You can then add one or more categories to represent the professional roles you perform.
Categories
Each category allows for entering information specific to that role. For example:
- A Director of Photography category should highlight cinematography experience and credits
- A Sound Mixer category should focus on audio experience and credits
Each category should include:
- A description of your experience and background per category — optional but suggested
- At least one role-specific credit per category — required
Professional Standards
To maintain a trusted and effective directory: Do not misrepresent your experience.
Only add categories for roles you are qualified to perform professionally.
The Admin team may request verification of credits or experience before approving a listing.
Profiles that do not meet these standards may be declined or removed.
Files
Files must be uploaded in PDF format.
Recommended materials:
- Resume — focused and relevant
- Equipment list — if applicable
- Price sheet or rate card
- Selected work samples or project summaries
Only upload materials you would confidently send to a producer or client. Prioritize clarity and relevance over volume.
Images
Strong visuals help your listing stand out. Use high-quality, professional images. Avoid low-resolution or unrelated photos.
Crew categories will not have any images.
Talent categories:
- Headshots, portfolio pics, screen grabs, or relevant stills
Film Resource & Support Services:
- Logo or profile image
- Additional images that represent your business or services
Approval Process
All new listings and edits are reviewed by Admin to maintain the quality and reliability of the directory.
- New listings must be approved before appearing publicly
- Edits and updates will also need to be approved before going live; already approved listing will remain live while changes are under review
- You’ll be notified once your listing or edits are approved
Admin may also suggest improvements to strengthen your listing.
This review process helps ensure the directory remains a trusted resource for producers, crews, and organizations.
